Grand Island Roundup

Capitalizing on the success of the inaugural Rodeo Grand Island, organizers plan to make the 2018 bigger and better. The Tom Dinsdale Automotive Grand Island Roundup will feature a myriad of activities March 1-3, 2018, at Fonner Park. The headline event is Rodeo Grand Island, produced by Sutton Rodeo of Onida, SD.
Kim and Steve Sutton will bring the three-day event to Grand Island for the second year. The Suttons are part of a sixth-generation rodeo company founded in 1926 with extensive experience producing very successful rodeos and stock shows. Check out their website at SuttonRodeo.com.

Rodeo’s top stars will compete in the 2018 PRCA Wrangler Champions Challenge. This is one of the biggest rodeo events of the year. “We’re excited to come to Grand Island for this event,” Sutton Rodeo co-owner Steve Sutton said. “This is a great event for the PRCA, and the competitors are excited to come to the Heartland Events Center. Contestants from all over the country really want to perform in Grand Island.”

“It’s an amazing mix of sport and entertainment,” said event organizer Bruce Swihart. “If you’re new to rodeo, don’t be afraid to come on out. Lots of action, lights and fireworks mixed with music for a fast-paced, high-energy show will please the whole family.”

With a goal of providing entertainment for residents as well as recruiting national and regional events to Grand Island, the State Fair facilities and Heartland Events Center are the hub of activity. Fonner Park facilities are the premiere site for regional and national livestock and agricultural shows. With more than 425,000 square feet of modern, state-of-the-art livestock and exhibition facilities, Grand Island is a natural place for rodeo fans to gather. In addition to Rodeo Grand Island, the Grand Island Roundup will feature horse racing, a livestock show, and live music.
