GRAND ISLAND, NE: The Classic Green Reunion featuring John Deere tractors, parts, memorabilia, and literature begins Thursday, June 13 and continues through Saturday June 15th at Fonner Park. This three day expo will feature displays and vendors in the Pinnacle Bank Expo Center, the Heartland Events Center, as well outdoor display areas.
Nearly 600 exhibitors are pre-registered to show tractors, garden implements, and memorabilia. Space for nearly 400 tractors was reserved ahead of time, and people are encouraged to bring their tractors even if they did not register. Sixty vendors selling memorabilia, parts, and literature are registered.
“We can say easily that more than 35 states are represented, from California to Florida,” event organizer Steve Plambeck said. He also spoke to someone from Canada who will be at the event, and knows of people coming from overseas to see the show.
The fourth ever built, a John Deere D – which is also the oldest known surviving John Deere – will be at the event. An experimental bathtub version of the same model John Deere D, excavated from the ground and restored, is also expected at the show.
Setup is underway. Opening ceremonies are at 1pm on Thursday. A tractor parade will take place each day of the show at 1:30pm. Admission is $10 per day for adults (15 and under are free) or $25 for all three days.
