Stuhr Museum is proud to welcome dozens of local and regional artists at the 29th annual Wings Over the Platte art show and sale opens on Friday, February 10th. An opening reception that is free and open to the public will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, February 9th in the Stuhr Building.
Wings Over the Platte features art inspired by the Platte River and the natural beauty of Nebraska, and inspiration for the show takes many forms. The featured artist this year is Kris Allphin who works in a large format style known as Batik. From photography to sculpture, realism to abstract and more, this year’s Wings Over the Platte features some truly stunning pieces and is worth the trip for both nature enthusiasts, art enthusiasts and everyone in between. This show also features a strong showing from local and regional artists.
The opening reception on Thursday, February 9th will feature refreshments and a sneak preview of this fantastic show. It’s free and open to the public. Wings Over the Platte officially opens on Friday, February 10th and runs through April 9h and is on display from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays and Noon – 5 p.m. on Sundays.
