GRAND ISLAND, STUHR MUSEUM – The Stuhr Museum Foundation Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Kevin L. Hendrix as the Executive Director of the Stuhr Museum Foundation.
Hendrix is a graduate of Hastings College with Bachelor of Arts degrees in history and music. Since 2011, he has served as Director of Development at the Strategic Air and Space Museum near Ashland where he has been responsible for all aspects of fundraising including donor cultivation and development of giving programs. His professional experience also includes donor relations at Omaha Performing Arts and multiple roles at the Durham Museum in Omaha.
Hendrix will begin in early September and will be replacing Pamela Price, who served as the Foundation Director from 2001 until her retirement August 1. He will inherit a number of standing projects, most significantly, the “Gem of the Prairie” campaign, which secured over $7 million in private contributions to renovate the Stuhr Building.
“It is exciting to have Kevin not only joining the Stuhr Foundation as Executive Director, but also to have him returning to Grand Island,” said Kurt Haecker, chair of the Foundation Board. “We are fortunate to have Kevin, who possesses valuable fundraising experience and prides himself on building lasting relationships, to succeed Pam.
“As someone who spent my early childhood in Grand Island, I have fond memories of visits to Stuhr Museum,” Hendrix said. “I look forward to becoming reacquainted with the community and helping the museum to strengthen its place where memories are made for generations to come.”
The mission of the Stuhr Museum Foundation is to raise unrestricted funds, special project funds, and endowment funds to benefit the living history, education, and preservation programs of the Stuhr Museum. For more information, contact the Foundation at (308) 385-5131.
