NET & Stuhr Team Up for “Downton Abbey” Premier Screening on Sunday

GRAND ISLAND, STUHR MUSEUM – Stuhr Museum is teaming up with NET Television to bring a sneak preview of PBS Masterpiece Classic: Downton Abbey's 6th and final season to Central Nebraska.

NET will be showing the first episode of Downton Abbey Season 6 at 2 p.m. on Sunday, December 6th in the Stuhr Building, a full month before the show airs on NET Television. This event is free to the public and NET has asked all planning to attend to register at their website. Limited seating is available and seating will be on a first come, first serve basis, so showing up early is recommended. The episode will run 67 minutes and will screen in the Gretchen and Jack Dinsdale Gallery on the first floor of the Stuhr Building.

Downtown Abbey, set in the fictional Yorkshire country estate of Downton Abbey, depicts the lives of the aristocratic Crawley family and their servants in the post-Edwardian era with the great events in history having an effect on their lives and on the British social hierarchy. The show has been critically acclaimed and adored by audiences in the United Kingdom and the United States, and the final season has been met with great anticipation.

Before or after you catch up with the Crawley family, there will be plenty to see in the newly renovated Stuhr Building as the “Fantasy of Trees” exhibit is up, featuring over 60 creatively decorated Christmas trees. The Prairie Treasures Gift Shop will also be open and decked out for the holiday season.

Stuhr is proud to be working with NET Television, which serves to enrich lives and engage minds by connecting communities and celebrating Nebraska with services that educate and enlighten.
