GRAND ISLAND, STUHR MUSEUM — Stuhr Museum is proud to welcome back over 500 Boy Scouts, their parents and troop leaders for the annual Merit Badge University, Friday July 24 – Sunday, July 26. The group which represents multiple states will be camping in the east field on our grounds beginning on Friday.
The scouts will use Stuhr Museum as their base of operations for the annual camp out. During the weekend in Grand Island, the Scouts will have the opportunity to earn over 70 different merit badges both on the museum grounds and around Hall County. The Scouts and their leaders will fan across Hall County to learn from local experts in a variety of fields, and will return to the museum to camp, eat, socialize and work on a service project in the afternoons and evenings.
In addition the scouts will also be holding daily flag ceremonies, spending some time at Island Oasis and camping in the field to the east of the Stuhr Building. Stuhr Museum is proud to be involved with this program that brings so many scouts and their families to Grand Island to enjoy all our community has to offer.
The museum will remain open during the Merit Badge University and the public is welcome to come out and see the camp and the newly renovated Stuhr Building. For more information, contact the museum at (308) 385-5316.
