Stuhr Building Member's Celebration Features Food, Fireworks & More

GRAND ISLAND, STUHR MUSEUM – We are celebrating the opening of the Stuhr Building with our members at 7 p.m. on Saturday, July 18th with food, music, fireworks, games and a chance to see the Stuhr Building a day before the general public. This event is open to Stuhr Museum members only, or those who purchase a membership the day of the event.

Over the 18 months we've been without our main building, exhibits space and visitor's center, our members have been an invaluable to the success of the museum. During this event, we hope to say "thank you" to our members who do so much for us. During the day, the museum will be open and free to the public, with gates closing at 5 p.m.

Gates open for the member's only event at 6 p.m. A schedule of events include:

-A (very) short ceremony beginning at 7:00 followed by the opening of the building
-A first look of the renovated Stuhr Building
-The exhibits "Peggie Hartwell: Voices on Cloth" and "The Museum's Largest Exhibit" in the building, plus new permanent exhibits on the second floor.
-A hot dog bar with sides and drinks
-Live music by Jazz Impressions of Grand Island
-A beer garden in the Hornady Family Arbor
-A scavenger hunt for families to do together
