FAA Provides $9.8 million for construction of a new terminal

The Federal Aviation Administration has awarded a $9.8 million grant to the Central Nebraska Regional Airport as part of the funding for a new $14.1 million passenger terminal.

Back in July, Hausmann Construction of Lincoln was awarded the bid to construct the 33,725 sq. ft. passenger terminal building, but project was contingent upon federal funding.

“I am pleased that the Federal Aviation Administration is providing the additional resources for this project, which will help accommodate passengers for the next 20 plus years,” said Executive Director Mike Olson. “Our congressional delegation was instrumental in helping us secure $7.5 million of additional funding for this project.”

Ground breaking for the new passenger terminal will be the later part of October and project is expected to be completed in the spring of 2016.
