Stuhr Brings Living History Activities to the Nebraska State Fair

GRAND ISLAND, STUHR MUSEUM – Stuhr Museum is honored to be asked to be part of the 2014 Nebraska State Fair for a fifth year in a row!

This year, Stuhr’s tent will be in front of the Swine Barn, where we will be playing historic games, bringing out some smaller version of our exhibits, and providing plenty of activity (and plenty of shade) to our part of the fair. In addition to our daily activities, the museum will be bringing out special presenters during each day to for a number of special activities and presentations. This year’s schedule includes:

Sunday, Aug. 24 – Animal Print Making Monday, Aug. 25 – Rope Making
Tuesday, Aug. 26 – Tipi Talk and Play Wednesday, Aug. 27 – Millinery (hat making)
Thursday, Aug. 28 – Cyanotype Photo Printing Friday, Aug. 29 – Tinsmithing
Saturday, Aug. 30 – Crystal Radio Sunday, Aug. 31 – Pedal Saw
Monday, Sept. 1 – Period Games

This year, we’re also bringing along our License Plate Buffalo, an art project that includes a license plate from every county in Nebraska, most of which were collected by Mrs. Chavez’s fourth grade class from Seedling Mile Elementary School in Grand Island.
