Liz Gerberding, Convention Services
Liz was born and raised in Southeast Iowa, on a farm. She has been a lifelong volunteer starting at an early age with her mother doing plane spotting for the CAP. Since then she has worked at numerous jobs from working in a fast food restaurant, being an entrepreneur, sales, owning a family business and now as the Convention Services Coordinator for the Hall County Convention and Visitors Bureau.
She enjoys meeting new people and reconnecting with people she knows throughout the state and across the nation while in her various volunteer capacities and business involvement.
Her passion is saving movie houses, which she is proud to say, has been two, the Rialto II Theater in Geneva and the Grand Theatre in Grand Island.
Hobbies include reading, crafting, going to car shows (in her 1953 Studebaker) and volunteering.
Liz's favorite obscure fact about Grand Island: Grand Island's Jake Eaton is a champion gum chewer of the world. Said to be capable of chewing 300 sticks at a time. (Source: Nebraska A Guide to the Cornhusker State)
