A fun, spooky Haunted Field, ghost stories, treats galore and many more adventures await during Stuhr Museum’s annual “All Hallows Evening” October 14 & 15. The festivities run from 6-9 p.m. each night with the new “Haunted Field” opening at 7 p.m.
Costumes are encouraged during this popular event which starts on the Treat Trail in the museum’s Hornady Family Arbor. Dozens of area businesses and organizations are lined up in the arbor to provide games, activities, prizes and candy to each and every person through the gate. Goodie bags will be distributed before each visitor enters the Treat Trail, which kicks off the event promptly at 6 p.m. From there, head to Railroad Town for good, old-fashioned Fall fun, where lit Jack-O-Lanterns denote an activity, including:
●Doughnut ducking on the green
●Ghost Stories in the Town Hall
●Fall games in the parlors of historic homes
●Specialty Food in the Silver Dollar Cafe and shopping in the Railroad Town Mercantile
●Wandering spooks like the Ghost Bride and Scarecrow around town. Keep an eye out for them!
End your evening by tip toeing through the Haunted Field where the spooks are out in full force. The path is appropriate for all ages except toward the end when there’s a fun fright that you can dare to try or avoid. Along the way you’ll meet witches and pirates and have a lot of Halloween fun.
Admission to this fun family adventure is $6 for everyone and free for Stuhr Museum and Hastings Museum members. Children 2 and under are also admitted free. This event is supported by Raising Cane's of Grand Island. For more information, call the museum at (308) 385-5316 or log onto www.stuhrmuseum.org.
