TeamMates Mentoring Program is excited to have been selected to have a presence at the Nebraska State Fair through the State Fair Cares program.
The Nebraska State Fair Cares statewide Non-Profit Program was set up in early 2014 to benefit bona fide non-profit organizations throughout the state. As a winner, the TeamMates Mentoring Program will be allowed premium access to the Nebraska State Fair visitors to promote program awareness and recruit new mentors for across the state. TeamMates will be present at the fair Labor Day weekend, Saturday, August 30st – Monday, September 1st with a presence at both entrances and a goal to recruit more than 20 new mentors for surrounding communities. Highlights at the TeamMates booth will include yard games, a mentor rally, and an appearance by the TeamMates Mentoring Program co-founder, Tom Osborne. State Fair goers who submit an application to become a TeamMates mentor at the booth will be entered in a drawing to win a football autographed by Coach Osborne.
TeamMates Mentoring Program executive director, Suzanne Hince, states, “We are grateful for the support of the Nebraska State Fair. We look forward to being a part of this great event and the opportunity to promote mentoring statewide.” The Nebraska State Fair is located in Grand Island, Nebraska and will run from August, 22nd – September 1st.
The TeamMates Mentoring Program was founded in 1991 by Tom and Nancy Osborne to provide support and encouragement to school aged youth. With a mission to positively impact the world by inspiring youth to reach their full potential, TeamMates is serving over 7,000 youth in 125 communities across Nebraska and Iowa. Mentors meet one hour per week at the school to provide support and encouragement to youth.
