These classes give our visitors a chance to experience trades and arts that have been around for hundreds of years. 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. March 15 & 16 Cost – Members: $120 Nonmembers: $130
“Blacksmith 1″ spans two days and will be held for both members and nonmembers of the
museum and is designed for those with no metal working experience. During this class,
participants will create items using a coal forge as well as become skilled at the tempering process and basic hammer techniques. This class is a unique opportunity to find out how metalworking was done over one hundred years ago and how blacksmithing is still relevant today. No experience is necessary for this class.
9 a.m. – 4 p.m. March 15 & 16 Cost – $95 for two adults (or adult/child team) and $15 per additional child. Nonmembers are $115
Learn the unique craft of Tinsmithing during this class aimed at children and adults to do together. Participants will make cookie cutters, cups, boxes or a lunch pail. Learn how to handle tools and create your own pieces. This class is specifically designed for couples or a parent/child to take together and is taught by Railroad Town tinsmith Loren Miller.
